Bonnie Drake
National Youth Activities Director
Wow, it’s hard to believe we are already in the month of
February, and before we know it the 2012/2013 term will be coming to an end.
Remember our lovely National President Leanne Lemley’s theme
“Serving from the Heart for our Veterans." We know it is our Veterans that
keep us going!

| Putting in your Whole Heart is an important ingredient to success! |
At National Midyear, each of the Directors were asked to
add an ingredient to make all the programs a success. My ingredient is a “WHOLE HEART” because once this is added
there will be no doubt our Programs will be successful. Remember if something
is done "half heartedly" that’s what you will get…."half" the results you
really want to see. If you put your
whole heart into any thing, it definitely shows, no matter what it is! Let’s not
skimp on this ingredient, because if you do, we won’t see the results we want
to.
Like the National President appoints Directors, each
Department President appoints a Chairman for each Program, who then writes up
their program and a year end report that, although it is for that Department, should mirror the National Program and Year End Report. Review your Department
Year End Report and the National Book Year End Report to see that you can
report participation to National. This way when all the reports come in you can
gather the totals easier. Even before this point in the year you should have
been in touch with your Districts/Ladies Auxiliaries and seen to it they are
all participating; if not, you need to go back from here and get them all
moving. Don’t wait until the last minute!

Remember, if you have a year end report with Ladies Auxiliary
Post name and number showing and nothing else or everything is marked “no” this
does not mean you are 100% reporting. They have to participate to count! Remember the deadlines! Don’t wait to the
last minute.
It is your responsibility to see that every Ladies Auxiliary did something and that they report. Trust me, it is work, but when you put your “whole heart” into it, you will meet the challenge of 90% reporting or go above and be 100%.

I have been having the time of my life this year as Department of Missouri Youth. I didn't know that this chairmanship would change me in ways that I never dreamed to be changed. I have always love the Youth but this has put a different spin on it.
